Subsea Stimulation Kit

From planning to execution – a true success story! The Subsea Stimulation kit was developed to solve a practical challenge faced by field operators: How to carry out subsea well stimulation without the need of mobilizing a large Light Well Intervention vessel to perform the task.

To address this challenge, we built a compact system that can be mobilized on a smaller IMR vessel equipped with ROV and a AHC, giving clients more flexibility and reducing large vessel time. The system was developed on the philosophy of transferring the already well integrated solutions for topside stimulation to an IMR-vessel to perform Fluid Injection Work on subsea wells. Across two years of use, the system has completed more than 60 clean and efficient connections and disconnections to the subsea well.

Our experience from the HTS‑1 and HTS‑2 systems served as the foundation for further development. When the client requested a new third-generation version with better functionality and increased safety margins, we took the opportunity to refine the concept and stay innovative, while maintaining our key principles: Simpler, Safer, Smarter.

The outcome – a complete and optimized stimulation system

The Stimkit has been engineered as a mobile solution covering all operational requirements for safe and efficient subsea stimulation:

  • 4-Line Reel (function testing / well entry and exit testing)
Provides controlled hydraulic supply to operate subsea equipment and pressure test before, during, and after operations.
  • SCIV Reel (barrier control during stimulation)
Operate subsea equipment to ensure barrier integrity throughout the stimulation process.
  • 150 m Coflexip acidizing hose on reel – 4" ID
Fitted with fixed buoyancy elements to simplify handling during deployment and recovery of hose. During operation the pre-installed buoyancy configuration ensure that a Lacy-S is developed to compensate for vessel heave motions.
  • Ball Drop System – 4" valve manifold
Adaptable solution for ball activated completion strings and supports local pressure testing and adaptable flow control while maintaining barrier safety.
  • Two independent HPUs
Deliver the hydraulic power required to operate all systems with redundancy.
  • HTS‑3 – Upgraded Hose Transfer System
A reinforced third-generation system for hose handling between vessels with a double-lock design that has already demonstrated long-term mechanical reliability.
